Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 178,000 jobs in March. The unemployment rate changed very little to 4.3%.

The labor force participation declined slightly to 61.9% for the month of March. Additionally, average hourly earnings rose by 0.2%, contributing to a 3.5% increase over the past 12 months.
