The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its monthly employment numbers. Although the U.S. job market has slowed, it remains strong. The unemployment rate changed very little to 3.5%, and 236,000 jobs were added in March (down from 311,000 jobs in February). Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% (9 cents). Employment continued to trend upward in leisure, hospitality, government, professional and business services and health care.
