Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 275,000 in February — economic growth is still solid. The unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.9%, and this rate has been under 4% for 25 consecutive months.
Job gains occurred in health care, in government, in food services and drinking places, in social assistance, and in transportation and warehousing.
