The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its monthly employment numbers. Although the U.S. job market has slowed in terms of growth, it remains strong. The unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.7%, and 339,000 jobs were added in May — the largest since January. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% (11 cents). Most job gains were seen in professional and business services, including accounting and bookkeeping, which added 64,000 jobs.
