Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 162,000 jobs in August. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1%.
The labor force participation increased slightly to 61.6% for the month of August. Additionally, average hourly earnings rose by 0.3%, contributing to a 3.1% increase over the past 12 months.
