Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 172,000 jobs in May. The unemployment rate remained the same at 4.3%.
The labor force participation held at 61.8% for the month of May. Additionally, average hourly earnings rose by 0.3%, contributing to a 3.4% increase over the past 12 months.
