Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. increased by 57,000 jobs in June. The unemployment rate dropped slightly to 4.2%.

The labor force participation decreased to 61.5% for the month of June. Additionally, average hourly earnings rose by 0.3%, contributing to a 3.5% increase over the past 12 months.
